In 1963, John Coltrane recorded a studio album that has remained unknown and unheard until this day. The album was recorded at Van Gelder Studios, the “Abbey Road” of jazz, with Coltrane’s Classic Quartet and at the height of his career. The music on this album represents one of the most influential groups in music history performing in a musical style it had perfected and reaching in new, exploratory directions that would affect the trajectory of jazz from then on. In short, this is the holy grail of jazz.

Originally released in 1982, the EP contains songs written for Bertolt Brecht’s play of the same. Recorded by Tony Visconti at the infamous Hansa by the Wall Studios around the same time as his Berlin Trilogy.

‘On the 29th June, UMC/Polydor celebrates one of rock’s most important bands, Guns N’ Roses, with the release of Appetite For Destruction commemorating the band’s highly influential album debut.
The record is pressed on 2 LPs for the first time, including expanded gatefold jacket art and a limited-edition foil printed plastic slipcase. The music itself is being presented on three sides only for maximum audio fidelity, with the fourth side featuring a vinyl hologroove hologram of the band’s iconic logo.

Guru’s Jazzmatazz, Vol. 1 is the debut solo studio album from Guru, one half of the hip-hop group Gang Starr. Originally released in 1993, this album is one of the first albums to combine a live jazz band with hip hop production and rapping. Live backing is provided by a band that includes Lonnie Liston Smith, Branford Marsalis, Ronny Jordan, Donald Byrd and Roy Ayers. The album also features vocal collaborations with Carleen Anderson, N’Dea Davenport (of the Brand New Heavies) Dee C Lee and French rapper MC Solaar.
Deluxe 3 x LP edition includes the original album, the instrumentals and a third bonus LP of rare remixes. It also comes with a 12 page booklet.

Brooklyn rapper Haleek Masul releases his debut relesase on Lex Records. The 21-year-old rapper, singer and producer was sent to the tropical island of Barbados at an early age to attend school and be raised outside the city. Inspired by the sounds that filled his childhood environment, he began creating music while in secondary school, and what started off as innocent rhyming and mimicry of his favourite artists became an obsession which led him to pursue production and greater musical exploration.

Irish producer Jack Colleran, formerly known as MMOTHS, releases his debut album project ‘Gardenia’, via the Because Music label. Recorded at The Meadow Studios in Wicklow, the album’s neo-classical direction takes much of its inspiration from Colleran’s home in The Curragh Plains, Kildare. Avoiding stasis, these influences were instead rolled outwards from the ancient plains as he began to write music for fictional, non-existing spaces and worlds of his own making.

Orange Sunshine is the debut album from cross-continental trio Susso Seki Singh, consisting of Jally Kebba Susso on Kora, Andrea Seki on Harp, and Kiranpal Singh on Santoor.
