The debut album from Michelle Daly is a collection of songs that draws on themes such as destiny, heartbreak, missed opportunities, finding purpose, patriarchy, rites of passage, lost faith, and fantasy versus reality.
The Berlin-based, Irish vocalist’s style exhibits influence from old school jazz, rhythm and blues, soul artists and the prolific songwriting of the 60s and 70s stalwarts, Burt Bacharach and Carole King.
This album is the result of a successful grass-roots crowdfunding campaign and was recorded at Jazzanova Recording Studio, Berlin. It was produced and arranged by Charis Karantzas and is a collaboration with her long-time writing partner, Australian composer, Michael Edwards. This partnership makes up the greater part of the album tracks, while others such as ‘In My Dreams‘ (co-written with Michael Parle) were written by Daly while London-based.
